2.3 TASK: Source & Evaluate
Now it’s your turn to put your sourcing skills into action. In this activity, you’ll step into a real classroom scenario and work with a clear purpose: selecting and evaluating materials that support both content and language learning.
TASK: Source & Evaluate
You’re planning a CLIL Science lesson on “The Digestive System” for a 5th grade class. Your task is to find four online resources (websites, videos, worksheets, posters, etc.) and evaluate them as you go. As you explore, think carefully about how well each resource fits your learners and rate it using this scale:
- Good and ready to use
- Good but needs adapting
- Not suitable
As you search, remember that effective CLIL resources should not only be scientifically accurate, but also engaging, accessible, and appropriate for your learners’ age and language level. The goal is not just to collect materials, but to think critically about how well they fit your teaching context. By practising this process, you’ll become faster and more confident at spotting useful resources and adapting them to meet your learners’ needs.
