Welcome to the Course!
Welcome! Before you start, here’s how the course works and what you’ll build along the way.
This course is designed for teachers of any subject and level who want to make projects a real way of learning, not an extra activity at the end of a unit. Whether you are trying PBL for the first time or want to plan your projects with more structure, you’ll find a clear path to follow and plenty of practical tools along the way.
A project of your own, step by step
While you learn how PBL works, you’ll design a real project for one of your classes:
- Module 1 – what PBL is, what it needs and how it differs from other methods;
- Module 2 – two possible topics for your project, each with its own driving question;
- Module 3 – the information, products and resources your project needs, and the choice of your most realistic idea;
- Module 4 – your assessment plan: who, what, when and with which tools;
- Module 5 – the whole journey mapped out, from the first day to the final event.
Videos first, then your turn
In each module, Cristina will explain to you every step through real examples. After the videos, a series of worksheets will let apply what you’ve seen into your own project: download them, then print them or fill them in on your computer. Each worksheet builds on the one before, so keep them all in one folder: you’ll need them in the final activity.
What you need?
A class in mind, your curriculum at hand and about 2.5 hours, plus the time you choose to spend on the activities!
