3.1 Identify what Information will be Needed and How to Collect it
What do your students need to know to answer the driving question, and where will they find it? Planning this in advance doesn’t mean controlling everything: it means being ready to guide them.
This lesson takes Breaking Bread as an example. To plan a community meal, students need to learn about recipes, food prices, budgets and even food safety. They can find this information in many ways: from cookbooks and supermarket flyers to interviews with parents, chefs or farmers. You’ll also see how to support them with short lessons, lists of resources and the right questions at the right time.
Remember: you’re the navigator, not the encyclopedia!
