2.2 The Driving Question
Every project needs an engine, and in PBL that engine is the driving question. It makes students curious, gives them a challenge to take on together and keeps the whole project moving.
This lesson shows what makes a driving question strong: it’s open, it’s challenging and it connects to the real world. Compare “What is photosynthesis?” with “How can we design a community garden that grows all year round?”. The second is a question students don’t just answer: they live it. You’ll also discover the four parts of a good driving question and the mistakes to avoid.
Then it’s time to write your own!
